Values

Chicago Dance Crash is committed to promoting a safe work, training & performance environment for those of all backgrounds. We stand against discrimination based on race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religious beliefs, disability and genetic information.

This Organization adamantly and proactively operates against all forms of harassment and mistreatment that could potentially be committed in any environment Dance Crash takes responsibility for – both in policy and practice. This includes our theatres, our studios, our transports, our digital presence & messaging, our social outings, our meeting places and more.

These commitments are made real with:

  • Signed acknowledgements & agreements of policy made by all Crash employees, partners and independent contractors to abide by.
  • Continued education & training on the part of every Crash leadership position.
  • Transparent practices in hiring & decision-making.
  • Embracing opportunities to improve and be corrected.
  • Choosing human decency as the automatic, first priority when multiple options or positions are presented.

This Professional Dance Company was created to make people’s lives better – not to indirectly serve as a platform for unhealthy conflict, heartbreak, misappropriation, cowardice or by otherwise gaining via the taking away from others.

Concerns, reports of violations (either witnessed or personally experienced) or suggestions are to be reported to the Chicago Dance Crash Board Chair who will expedite prompt investigation, protect confidentiality and implement appropriate corrective action, all in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and guidelines. Please email info@chicagodancecrash.com with the subject “Concern” along with your thoughts.

Do you know ways to make our online and in-person events more accessible? Are there accommodations you need that we are not providing? We’d love to hear from you and will do our best to accommodate you. Please email info@chicagodancecrash.com with the subject “Access” along with your thoughts.

Chicago Dance Crash’s proud home is on the traditional lands of the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. Many other tribes such as the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac, and Fox also called this area home.
