Workshop & Work-in-Progress Showing
June 29 | 6:00–8:30 PM
at the Chicago Cultural Center
Join Chicago Dance Crash for a workshop and in-process showing as part of our three-week residency with choreographer Annie Franklin, developing new work with the company.
This engagement invites artists and audiences into both the training and performance aspects of the residency. Participants will engage directly with Franklin’s choreographic approach while also experiencing how that work translates into a developing piece built through ensemble collaboration.
Schedule
6:00–7:00 PM | Community Workshop with Annie Franklin
A workshop led by Franklin offering participants a deeper dive into her movement practice, focusing on improvisation, physical rigor, and the integration of personal movement language within structured choreography.
7:00–8:30 PM | Work-in-Progress Showing + Talkback
A showing of the nearly completed work developed during the residency. The evening concludes with a talkback, providing space for reflection, audience feedback, and insight into the creative process.
This event offers a fuller view of the residency’s evolution, from embodied practice to performance, highlighting the development of the work as it moves toward completion.
