Works-In-Process Showing & Community Workshop
June 18 | 6:00–8:30 PM
at the Chicago Cultural Center
Join Chicago Dance Crash for an open studio experience as part of our three-week residency with choreographer Annie Franklin, developing new work in collaboration with producer e j e c t.
This open rehearsal invites community members into the creative process, offering a firsthand look at how Franklin and e j e c t are working with the ensemble. Participants will see the methods Crash is using to foster collaboration between dancers and musicians, exploring how movement and sound can be built simultaneously. The process highlights how two artistic communities, often siloed, can create in dialogue through a shared understanding of music and its composition, a skillset especially prevalent in freestyle-based artists.
