Chicago Dance Crash returns to No Studios DanceFest Milwaukee in 2026! The company will be presenting its newest repertory work “4 Bar Loop” by resident choreographer Elijah Motley.
This dynamic quartet explores identity, drawing from Motley’s personal experience as a Black man raised in the South. Growing up surrounded by reminders and stories of racial discrimination shared by his grandparents, Motley reflects on the tangible progress made in civil rights, its regressions, and ultimately asks: “Are we any different now?”
Met with critical acclaim on its premiere in July, 2026, the Chicago Reader described the work as demonstrating “a sense of compassion and admiration for Black men in a world where the advances of the civil rights movement seem on the verge of disappearing.”
