About the teaching artist!
Kaio, born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Chicago, immersed himself in artistry from a young age, influenced by a family deeply rooted in dance and music. With two older sisters in dance, a younger sister as a music artist, a mother who coached dance, and a father passionate about music, he embraced all facets of their creative world. Taking dance seriously at 12, he auditioned for *America’s Got Talent* at 16, where he was introduced to Chicago’s all-style freestyle scene. At 18, he moved to Los Angeles, training in various dance styles and performing in TV shows, commercials, and international productions. Now, after seven years, he has returned to Chicago with a mission to share his knowledge and help grow his community through movement and mentorship.
What to expect from class!
This class will break down the science of movement, opening the conversation of how and why. Taught primarily on the bases of krump and animation but can be mixed into any style you see fit. Will talk on concepts, krump basics, history, and animation movement
