About the teaching artist!
Brien is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor who specializes in Hip Hop Freestyle. Originally born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Brien’s journey led him to Chicago to acquire new inspiration for his dance and movement. That inspiration was found in the street dance scene in Chicago where he began to sharpen his skills under the tutelage of Lam Sedechu of Rhythm Kidz and frequently battled with members of the community in local competitions. Over time, Brien honed his skills to compete in competitions across the country, even placing 1st in a handful of competitions within the last year.
Brien has had the honor of performing for artists such as Keke Palmer and Pharrell and currently holds teaching positions at PuzzleBox Dance Studio and Rhythmhood x Snipes Studio in Chicago, IL.
Brien is a lover and student of Hip Hop Culture and Dance. In his journey, he seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the message the culture embodies and how it relates to himself and the world around him.

In Class, we will work on establishing a solid foundation in the basics of Hip Hop Freestyle and application within and outside of their cultural context.
