About the teaching artist!
Brien is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor specializing in Hip Hop Freestyle. A devoted student of Hip Hop culture, he is committed to deepening his understanding of its values, history, and messages. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, he later moved to Chicago in search of new inspiration and a deeper connection to the dance.
In Chicago, Brien immersed himself in the city’s street dance community, developing his practice through mentorship with Lam Sedechu and regular battling as part of Rhythm Kidz. This community-based training became the foundation of his movement practice.
Through consistent training, community engagement, and national battle experience, Brien has earned multiple first-place finishes at competitions across the country. In addition to his competitive work, he has performed with artists such as Keke Palmer and Pharrell. He has trained with many of the world’s leading street dance artists through Rhythmhood x SNIPES Studio, where he currently serves as Studio Manager, supporting education and community-driven programming.
What to expect from class!
In class, we will work on establishing a solid foundation in the basics of Hip Hop Freestyle through the lens of the Dallas Boogie era of music and Hip Hop Dance.
