Artistic Director KC Bevis will be looking for creatively curious dancers with the ability and desire to freestyle and/or improvise. Dance artists should have street dance foundation and/or contemporary technique with an emphasis on floor work. Gymnastics, tricking or acrobatic experience is a plus. Additionally, versatile performance presence and experience is required.
Auditions will run as follows:
10:30-11:15 AM KC warmup class
11:15-12:15 Freestyle (cypher and showcase format)
12:30-2:30 Dance Crash Rep
2:30-4 Special Requests as Needed and Interviews

Described by Dance Magazine as “Matthew Bourne, but with a more primitive, ritualistic, streetwise attack”, Crash will be entering its 23rd Season of 50+ performances including repertory concerts, freestyle works, full-length productions, school assemblies, battles, and site-specific installations performed locally, across the U.S., and internationally.
Dancers will be part of a performance program that includes the creation of new works alongside the revival of existing works, working with choreographers Cameron McKinney of Kizuna, James Morrow of Old Dominion University alongside others. Additionally dancers will participate in educational outreach touring performances and residencies.
Dancers invited to join the 2025 Performance Ensemble must relocate to Chicago, IL and 2025 contracts are currently scheduled to occur from January through September. Ensemble dancers are paid hourly for rehearsals, company classes and community events as well as performance stipends and travel. One paid performing apprentice is selected annually.
