Event Details
Chicago Dance Crash performs at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago on May 9 as part of Family Days: Dancing the Revolution: From Dancehall to Reggaetón, with performances at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM.
Designed for children under 12 and their grown-ups, this interactive performance invites audiences to experience dance as both expression and connection. Crash guides participants through foundational styles such as Breaking, Hip Hop, Litefeet, and Chicago Footwork through freestyle, self-expression, and rhythm.
Through call-and-response, a live DJ, and shared movement, audiences are not just watching, but actively contributing. The performance builds from individual expression to collective energy, highlighting how dance can communicate identity, culture, and community without words.
ASL interpretation and Spanish translation are provided.
