Join us for class from 12:00–1:30, followed by an open lab from 1:30–3:00. During the lab, we’ll work together to apply the concepts from class through guided exploration, individual practice, and collaborative exchange, giving you time to develop, test, and refine what you’ve learned in a supported freestyle environment.
About the Teaching Artist!
Michael Davis, better known as Mike D Chicago, is a South Side native and multifaceted creative—singer, songwriter, dancer (Chicago Footwork), instructor, host, mentor, and choreographer. He serves as Chicago Program Manager for Creative Netwerk, building arts opportunities for youth through partnerships with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs, Chicago Park District, By The Hand, and the City of Chicago’s DCASE. As a performer and educator, Mike has collaborated with Apple, Nike, Puma, Red Bull, the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Sky, white Sox, Jacobs Pillow, Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, and more, with stages spanning Lollapalooza, the NBA All-Star Game, and Good Morning America. His singles “Claim It” and “Everybody Ain’t Inner Circle” continue to inspire audiences worldwide. In 2025, he proudly co-hosted Red Bull Dance Your Style Chicago, further cementing his role as a cultural leader. Locally, Mike leads Community Werks, a weekly donation-based class that serves as a safe, uplifting creative space for all.
