Chicago Dance Crash is in residency at the Chicago Cultural Center with choreographer Annie Franklin, developing a new work in collaboration with local producer e j e c t.
Franklin is a choreographer and performance artist known for creating physically rigorous, emotionally charged work that blends contemporary dance, improvisation, and experimental performance. Her practice centers on intimacy, vulnerability, and the relationship between performer and audience, with work presented in both traditional and nontraditional spaces.
This residency focuses on building a collaborative model between dancers and musicians, integrating freestyle movement and live music creation into a shared, ensemble-driven process.
The residency will include two public engagements:

A movement workshop led by Annie Franklin and an open studio session where audiences can observe the creative process in action and witness how dancers and musicians generate material together in real time. Followed by a showing of the developing work and a talkback with the artists.
